The role of medical detoxification or detox is to help you get off of drugs and alcohol safely and with less discomfort while supervised by trained medical staff. Our medical detox program is typically used as a precursor to another level of care and generally lasts for 1-2 weeks.

Short-term residential inpatient treatment is the first level of care many clients enter. Most clients in our short-term residential inpatient treatment center are in their treatment program for about 30-90 days, though treatment stays vary from person to person.

Our short-term rental inpatient program involves a full daily schedule of treatment activities. Clients will live on-site and have access to daily chef-prepared meals, luxury amenities, and other services that support whole-person healing.

Clients who may not have had success in traditional treatment programs or who live with severe addiction symptoms benefit from long-term residential inpatient rehab. Long-term residential inpatient treatment is an extended variation of inpatient care, often lasting six months or more.

The goal of a long-term residential inpatient treatment program is to allow clients more time to solidify healthy patterns that support their recovery in a supervised space free of drugs and alcohol.

A partial hospitalization program (PHP) is a form of addiction treatment with a level of intensity that is in between an inpatient program and a typical outpatient program. PHP requires a greater time commitment than other levels of outpatient care. As a PHP client at SOBA NJ, you’ll have a full daily schedule of treatment activities but will get to return home or to our sober living apartments at night.

An intensive outpatient program (IOP) is one step below PHP. While many aspects of the two programs are similar, IOP involves a lower time commitment. In turn, this level of care can be ideal for those with external obligations such as work or school who have a supportive living environment.

The outpatient program at SOBA NJ is the lowest level of care we offer. Outpatient programs involve a time commitment of about 1-9 hours per week, depending on your individual needs. You can access various services, including but not limited to individual therapy and groups, through our outpatient program.

We offer a variety of telehealth services so that clients can connect and receive HIPAA-compliant care from the privacy of their own homes. Telehealth services provided by SOBA NJ include but aren’t limited to individual and group therapy, assessments, consultations, and medication management.

Aftercare planning is a crucial element of addiction treatment. Clients in all of our programs will work with staff to make an aftercare plan to set themselves up for success as they prepare to graduate from treatment. 

Alumni options are separate but can be a valuable part of your aftercare plan. After finishing a program at our Asbury Park drug rehab center, clients have access to a range of alumni support options through SOBA NJ, including but not limited to meetups and check-in calls.

Family support can make a major difference in a person’s recovery. The two-part family support program at SOBA NJ’s Asbury Park drug rehab center takes place every Thursday and is designed for family members of those in our programs. 

In the first session, our staff members educate family members about boundaries, expectations, and the treatment process. The second session is a multi-family group, where families get to know one another, sharing their challenges and successes. 

Confidentiality and ground rules are discussed upfront in the group to ensure a comfortable environment.

Interventions have been proven effective through research. An intervention can be what drives a person to better understand themselves and their addiction, grasp how their addiction affects others, or get treatment, even if they would not have been able to reach out on their own. However, they must be handled carefully. SOBA NJ can help your family facilitate an intervention for a loved one if needed.
