The initial process of stopping drug and alcohol use can come with uncomfortable and potentially dangerous withdrawals. The goal of medical detox is to help you get off of drugs and alcohol safely with the support of medical staff. Most of our clients attend medical detox before entering another level of care, such as residential inpatient treatment.
After detox, it’s important to enter a comprehensive addiction treatment program to address the underlying causes of addiction. Our short-term residential inpatient program is here to help you build new coping skills, create healthy patterns in a supervised environment, and work toward lasting recovery. As a residential inpatient client at SOBA NJ, you’ll get 34 hours of group therapy and one individual counseling session per week.
While the length of your treatment stay will always depend on personal needs and related factors, a standard short-term residential inpatient stay will usually last for about 30-90 days.
Long-term residential inpatient treatment is an extended version of a typical residential inpatient program. Our long-term drug and alcohol rehab program gives clients additional time to solidify new, healthy patterns after addiction. Longer treatment stays are associated with positive outcomes in research and can be life-changing for those who face severe addiction symptoms, experience chronic relapse, or need more time in an inpatient treatment setting than a standard short-term treatment stay can provide.
Our partial hospitalization program combines the intensive treatment schedule of a residential inpatient program with the freedom of an outpatient program. PHP clients can expect to go to treatment most days per week and will engage in a full weekly treatment schedule of groups, individual therapy sessions, and other treatment activities. However, you get to go home or return to our sober living apartments at the end of each treatment day.
The intensive outpatient program at SOBA NJ is less intensive than PHP but still provides comprehensive treatment. Although you’ll attend care for fewer hours per week, IOP clients can expect to commute to treatment multiple times per week for regular groups, individual therapy, and other services, similar to those in PHP. IOP is often ideal for those who intend to work, go to school, or fulfill other obligations while in treatment.
Outpatient is the least intensive level of care used for addiction and mental health treatment. The outpatient program at SOBA NJ is geared toward those who are in a stable place but want to work on relapse prevention. Our outpatient clients can expect to spend 1-9 hours per week in treatment.
SOBA NJ proudly offers HIPAA-compliant telehealth services for those who can’t attend in-person treatment. Our virtual mental health and addiction treatment services include but aren’t limited to therapy, assessments, consultations, medication management, and routine follow-up meetings.
Our New Jersey treatment center has a family program that meets weekly on Thursdays. The family program at SOBA NJ educates family members of those in our programs on addiction and gives you a space to connect with other families who are going through the same thing.
Despite common misconceptions, interventions can be highly effective when conducted correctly. Our experienced staff members can help you facilitate an intervention for someone in your life who needs help with substance abuse if you reach out in advance.
