Kearny Drug & Alcohol Rehab

Our New Jersey medical drug detox program helps clients through the initial process of getting off of drugs and alcohol before they enter another level of care, such as one of our residential inpatient treatment programs. Withdrawals from drugs and alcohol can be uncomfortable and, in some cases, dangerous. In medical detox, you will receive support and supervision from trained medical staff who will help you through withdrawals. Medications may be provided in some cases to help you through withdrawals and or to aid your recovery.

Our short-term residential inpatient treatment program temporarily removes you from everyday life so that you can build new patterns in a substance-free setting with supervision and accountability from staff. As a residential inpatient client at our Kearny drug rehab center, you’ll eat, sleep, and live on-site while engaging in a full schedule of groups, individual therapy, and other treatment activities throughout the day. Short-term residential treatment involves a standard treatment stay of about 30-90 days, which is what sets it apart from long-term rehab.

Long-term residential treatment is an extended form of traditional inpatient treatment. Clients who experience frequent relapse or who are working to overcome severe addiction often benefit from long-term residential treatment programs, even if standard addiction treatment hasn’t been successful for them in the past. 

Longer treatment stays are connected to better outcomes in substance abuse research. They are beneficial because they give you more time to solidify new, healthy patterns after addiction. Depending on your treatment needs, long-term residential treatment could last for six months or more.

Our partial hospitalization program, or PHP, provides intensive treatment throughout the day but allows you to return home or to our sober living apartments at night. It is in between residential inpatient care and a traditional intensive outpatient program because it combines the comprehensive nature of an inpatient program with the freedom of a typical outpatient program, which may give you more free time for external commitments.

An intensive outpatient program or IOP provides care one step below PHP in intensity. While many aspects of the two programs are the same, IOP involves a lower time commitment. Due to the increased flexibility it provides, IOP can be ideal for those who intend to work or go to school while in treatment.

The outpatient program at SOBA NJ is our lowest level of care. Our outpatient program involves a time commitment of about 1-9 hours per week, with your exact treatment schedule varying based on your individual needs. Outpatient services include but aren’t limited to individual therapy and groups.

SOBA NJ provides multiple sober living options for clients in distinct stages of recovery. Traditionally, sober living is a stable housing option for those in recovery that combines the freedom of a standard rental agreement with the accountability of living in a 100% drug and alcohol-free space. That is what you’ll find in our sober living apartments for clients in our PHP, IOP, or outpatient programs. However, those in our medical detox or residential treatment programs will receive 24/7 supervision from staff in their living space.

SOBA NJ proudly offers a variety of telehealth or virtual rehab services so that clients can get high-quality care from the privacy of their own homes. Telehealth services provided by SOBA NJ include but aren’t limited to individual therapy, group therapy, assessments, consultations, and medication management. All online sessions are HIPAA-compliant and led by licensed professionals.
