Client Housing

Overview

At SOBA New Jersey we offer sober housing opportunities to our addiction treatment clients. Our housing levels follow our three-phase treatment program. As clients progress through treatment their housing level will change. Our housing levels include Transitional Sober Living, Sober Living, and Independent Supportive Living for our program graduates.

Transitional Sober Living

Transitional Sober Living, or TSL, is part of the first phase of our residential treatment. Our TSL Facilities are luxury sober living spaces designed for clients transitioning into our program. TSL gives our clients a safe space to relax and become accustomed to new routines and new surroundings.

Typically, a stay in our Transitional Sober Living Housing lasts up to 30 days while clients receive Partial Care and Intensive Outpatient Care. After these 30 days our clients can transition to our Sober Living Apartments.

Sober Living Apartments

In our Sober Living Apartments, our clients have the freedom to come and go at their leisure. At this level, clients have full access to their phones and car and have the ability to take overnight passes. As clients progress through treatment and housing they get to enjoy more freedom and responsibilities at each level.

Live Healthy.

Our clients get a free membership to Robert Wood Johnson’s state of the art fitness center. It offers incredible amenities including an aquatic fitness center, whirlpool and sauna. Plus, clients get free sessions with a personal trainer, and access to a variety of fitness classes. A free quarterly nurse assessment, health history review, and body fat analysis is also included!

Have Fun.

We coordinate and host weekend activities as part of our Adventure Therapy. These activities include trips to the Jersey Shore and Six Flags. Plus, adventures like kayaking, rock climbing, wilderness hikes, camping trips, and more. Our activities get clients out of their comfort zone, give them great experiences, and demonstrate how easy it is to have fun while in recovery.

Eat Well.

Our world-class chef prepares gourmet meals for our clients. With a lifetime of experience cooking and working with local and world cuisine, our chef redefines “rehab food.” He prepares nutritious and delicious meals that feed mind and body. Once a client transitions to Sober Living, they’re provided with a weekly food budget so they can buy and prepare their own meals if they’d like.

Peer-to-Peer Recovery

We implement a peer to peer recovery model in our housing. Nearly all of our support team and housing techs are sober and in recovery. Because of this shared experience our staff can understand and care for our clients at a deeper level. They understand, wholeheartedly, the struggles, trials, and tribulations of early recovery. Our housing staff is available 24/7 for conversations, support, and help with recovery.

Join Our Program

Housing After Graduation

By the end of the stay with us clients focus on living as independently as possible. There’ll be less group hours, and more life outside of treatment. Once a client graduates our program they can no longer stay in our Sober Living Apartments but may be able to move into our Independent Supportive Living. Plus, our Alumni are always welcome back to hang out, seek support and guidance, and participate in activities. We are always here, and we are always family!
