Deepanjali works as a Case Manager at SOBA College Recovery. She attended Rutgers University where she received her Bachelor’s degree in Sociology and Communication. During her undergraduate career, she engaged in various substance use prevention efforts on campus as a peer health educator. This experience led her to her current position at a non-profit agency that utilizes a comprehensive environmental management approach to reduce dangerous drinking among first-year college students. Through her prevention work, she became more interested in substance abuse treatment. She is currently completing her Master’s in Social Work at Rutgers University and utilizes the clinical skills she has learned in her work as a Case Manager. Her favorite aspect of case management is how she sees people’s lives improve over time as they become more self-empowered. In her spare time, she enjoys seeking adventure outdoors, going on long walks with her 20 lb Chihuahua-mix named Pancho, and sharing laughter with family and friends.
